The music launch of Santosh Sivan's Urumi (dubbed Tamil version) was a starry affair in Chennai. This magnum opus with Prithviraj, Genelia, Vidya Balan, Tabu and Prabhu Deva in the lead roles is expected to grace theatres by December! Music composed by Deepak Dev was launched by Vijay while ace lyricist Vairamuthu, who has also penned the songs in Urumi, received the first copy of the CD.
The music launch was indeed a colourful affair with some of the top Kollywood celebs gracing the occasion. Arvind Swamy, Mani Ratnam, A.R. Murugadoss, Bharath, S.J. Suryah were present. Three songs and the trailer were screened, with Mani Ratnam, Murugadoss and S.J. Suryah releasing each of the songs. Though Urumi's lead actor Prithviraj couldn't make it to the occasion due to the ongoing strike in the Kerala film industry, his mother Mallika Sukumaran attended the event.
