Veerappan's wife against 'Vana Yudhdham'

Slain sandalwood smuggler Veerappan's wife Muthulakshmi on Wednesday sought a ban on the upcoming Tamil movie 'Vana Yudhdham', being directed by AMR Ramesh, saying it portrays her husband and the family in poor light.

Speaking to journalists in Chennai, Muthulakshmi said she had got an interim stay from the Chennai City Civil Court on the film. She said the court had ordered a stay till January 26 to the movie, which is being made without consulting her.

"The film portrays my husband and our family in bad light. Its director never consulted me to know the facts. I have serious objections to the film being released in Tamil Nadu. It must be banned," she told reporters.

She said her family and Veerappan were being wrongly portrayed in the film, "which was being shot without permission." The director has been claiming that the movie being shot with my permission and my family. "It is totally wrong'', she said.
