| Lingusamy, one of the most successful directors cum producers in Tamil film industry, celebrates his birthday today (November 14). The director has graced Kollywood with six blockbusters (all his directorial ventures being super hits) in his decade long career. When he first debuted through 'Aanandham', a full on family entertainer that starred a host of actors, none would have imagined that he will become one of the most successful commercial action films director. Through his very second film, 'Run', he broke the image he first set and showcased Madhavan as an action hero, something not many would have dared to do, what with Maddy's chocolate boy image. Following these were four commercial entertainers set in different backdrops, 'Ji', 'Sandakozhi', 'Bheema' and 'Paiya'. He is now accredited as someone who knows commercial cinema like the back of his hand. Along with his brother Subash, under the banners Thirupathi Brothers, Lingusamy has produced three films, 'Deepavali', 'Pattalam'' and 'Paiya'. He is currently busy with work on 'Vettai' where he is working again with his 'Run' hero, Madhavan, Arya, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul. The film is touted to be a Christmas treat to fans and is touted to see light of the day on December 23. Lingu will celebrate his birthday today evening at 5 pm at the sets of 'Vettai'.
